But the question is why the common man is afraid of investing into this market. I gave it a thought, including some of my friends’, and came on a conclusion (not a conclusion actually but a point at which I ended my thoughts which were running rapidly).
I went to few stock brokers for interview and during the free time I asked some of the NEAT and BOLT operators about their work. I was shocked to know that many of them didn’t invest their own money and if they did it was a very little amount. They made the transactions on behalf of their clients which were either on the basis of research done by the broking company’s analysts or on the instincts or so called tips received by the investor or trader. The share broker many a times suggests his/her clients to buy/ sell some shares which were recommended by his/her analyst. But tell me when he/she can suggest someone else to buy a share why can’t he/she do it for him/herself. Why can’t a broker take risk when he has such trustworthy information on which his company is dependent so badly that if the info gets wrong they lose money and the investors as well? I think there is a take here. Firstly, may be the broker is risk averse and don’t want to get involved into trading. But if this is the case then how can we expect people from outside the company to take active part into capital market. If I were to invest money through a broker I would ask if he himself trades in those stocks and if his answer is no then how can I expect to get better suggestions from him. Or secondly, he does not have faith in the analysts of the company and don’t want to risk his money just because some a*****e is telling him to do it. This means the analysts who work 24*7 and get tons of information from thousand sources (exaggeration) have not earned the trust of their own colleagues. They can’t even persuade their fellow employees about the correctness of the information they have derived upon with such difficulties and hardships. This might be true because if the analysts could have done better then the most profitable company would have been his and not others on which he is trading. How many of you have known analysts earning money through share market. In other way do you know any analyst following his own analysis for his own benefit? I know none. May be they are also not so confident about it.
Let me ask you one simple question (which can extend to multiple question-answers). If every broking company comes with same analysis then what’s the use of having all of them? Why cannot we have a single analysis department countrywide which will give the info to all brokers and investors? This suggestion won’t work because brokers won’t do that (because if they do it they will confirm that their analysts are useless). Then, why can’t we go to the broker better information in best possible time from which the investor benefits? This also cannot happen because different news channels have their own exclusive news shown only on that channel for first hour (metaphor). So what should the investor do? He can definitely do one thing if he wants to benefit from the trades he does. He can put some of his time in analysing the stocks he want to invest/trade in rather than depending upon some idiotic reports which may take him anywhere. By adopting this way they will at least be confident of their investments (and if they lose money they know that they are not alone). Everybody follows Warren Buffet but very few tried to be like him but who tried they have or will become successful.
And the other simple way can be of having some better analysts who don’t only shout but also come with good analysis. This depends on the analysts whether they want to become one or not. But if they do it will be benefit for all of us for sure.

What Do I think of Terrorism?

Terrorism as defined in its simplest manner means an act of threatening someone. This creates one more question in front of many, what and who is the terrorist?

I received a message one day saying “Not every Muslim is a terrorist but every terrorist is a Muslim, think about it” and which was answered by many other countries by terrorising the Islamic nations, especially the US.

After I finished watching New York on this Friday, I was thinking about the Muslim people who were detained in the US after 9/11 aftermath and their suffering during detention, and was confused about who is the real terrorist, the Muslim or US.

Haven’t the FBI detained the wrong people without an evidence and put them into detention for no reason. Are they authorised to do such kind of inhuman things without a concrete proof whether the people they caught are really terrorist or just civilians like other Americans.
This is not the case with only the US. In India, many of the non-Muslim country-men think that the Muslims are terrorists but Sadhvi Pragya Thakur proved it wrong. Also people like Naxalites and LTTE’s are not Muslims but they are well-known as terrorists. So, why is it that Muslims are targeted after every accident taking place in parts of our country or anywhere else. Can you give me one single evidence about they all being same and therefore should be categorised as terrorists or just because of few people, who dominate your thinking and you are a follower of theirs, you blame the whole Muslim community. I am not a promoter of any religion except humanity and expect every one to become as human as they can. Don’t try to prove that you are great because you are not and nobody is in front of that almighty god. Many of us know that this movie has been directed by Paritosh Painter and he has done the job well because copying a script and making another comedy out of it is not an easy task.

Many of us know that this movie is a remake of a Marathi comedy “Ashi hi Banwa Banwi” which did well at that time. In my opinion PG may not do that well but people waiting to see a comedy and that too on a multiplex screen won’t mind spending on this one. People who are familiar with the original may have a look on it as a remembrance and those who have not seen that movie may watch it to see Shreyas and Javed in a woman’s getup.

I won’t say it was a mind boggling comedy as it had same old comic lines (in a bit different way of course) and those double meaning sentences which Indian audience might have experienced before in some of the comedy reality shows. The location of Bangkok was picturised nicely and the music is also ok with Sonu’s Rabbula Rabi and Shaan’s Jack n Jill. Ladies were not at all necessary but Heroes must have their heroines, I guess, so they have been adjusted here and there.

Within a two hours time you will not find the movie a slow pace but it has also not given much exposure to the characters (even the old one ran for two and half hours). Having a multi-star cast is a tough job but they all did their part well enough to keep movie in the shape. Asrani, Gufi Paintel and Inder Kumar played guest appearances I think. Riya Sen and Vatsal Seth (Tarzan, the wonder car fame) had not much to do but Javed, Ashish and Shreyas did their work as expected. Chunky, as a comic villain have tried to put some impression on the audience but his lines were already heard somewhere (in other movie or TV shows).Celina, Sayali and Neha, as I said earlier, were put to make up couples and they had nothing much to do. Rest is the story you have to watch on the screen. Johny and Delnaz in the role of Punjabi husband and Gujju wife have done well enough with same old Khichdi style of wife using wrong words and husband interpreting in the right way.

The disappointing part was the last scene which reminds me of Naseeruddin Shah’s Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’s Mahabharata scene but was not the 10 % comedy of it.

I will rate movie a two star. Please give your opinions after watching the movie.

Shame on Us

Don’t think that I’m getting involved in politics more than necessary as I’m posting second article relating to election, because this time the issue is more social than political. I read the newspaper today (By the way I read it everyday) to find that only 45% of Maharashtra’s population has voted for Lok Sabha elections. I was shocked.

First of all I tell you that I accept my fault of not voting in the election as I had my final semester exams till 24th, the day when my hometown (Ichalkaranji) people were voting here. Today I’m here but can’t vote and I truly regret that I am in those 55% non-voting idiots.

We had a bad start of this year with people being mourning for 26/11 victims but these are the reasons why people should have voted. Despite of this they were enjoying the cool air from fans, Coolers and ACs while having a cold sip of orange (or mango) juice. And these are the arseholes who should be put in jail for not performing their duties responsibly. Voting is not only our right but also our duty to select appropriate candidate to lead our country. If you don’t want to vote you have no right to oppose a government for its deeds or misdeeds. Don’t come tomorrow for help if your house is under attack of any Ajmal Kasab or Mujahideen.

I know my article won’t do any good because the voting is already over here and till next election people will have already forgotten this (we have a short term memory loss, if we can forget 26//11 we can forget anything). By the way intelligent people will not wait for an advice like this to utilize their rights and idiots will not understand it anyway, so no issues.

I know that some of you will argue with my article stating that the candidates are the most irresponsible guys and why should they vote for a person like them. If that’s the problem then only you have the solution. Check who is the best possible candidate ( you can be one of them) for your vicinity (I know it’s a tough job) and force him/her (don’t use weapons, please) to stand as a candidate in the elections. If you give him/her support, he/she will definitely win and it will be beneficial to your community. But the funny part is people didn’t came out for voting because the temperature outside their houses was 47o C. I don’t know how I should react for such a reason. When you can get out for shopping or hanging out in this kind of season (don’t tell me your servants buy all your clothes and nappies for your babies and meet your “friends” and you sit watching IPL at home), why can’t you come out to vote and that too for your own benefit.

I won’t plead in front of any such person, who thinks that voting does no good for anybody, to vote. That’s a waste of time and my energy and I can put it into better use like kicking him/her out of their houses and if possible out of India. The only request to all my readers is to pass on my message so that we get a better leader to pull our economy.

My untold Farewell Speech

I’m not a person with whom you’ll fall in love at 1st sight, and after talking to me, never. I’ve spent two important years of my life, I’m not saying that I’ve done a favour upon you but I’ve to say that the love you have given me by being my friend, guide, brothers and parents is and will remain in my heart forever. I’ve not remembered my parents as much as I’m going to miss you guys.

I probably would have never thought of speaking on stage but as I thought further (which I rarely do), I realized that if I don’t speak now I’ll never get a chance of speaking in public in front of such a lovely and encouraging crowd (my friends).

So, here I’m taking few precious minutes from your lives and evaluating mine for the time being.

I just want to share my experience of past 2 years in this resort called AICAR which includes humour, anger, love affairs (unfortunately not mine), and a bit of studies. I just don’t know why I came to AICAR and when our seniors and colleagues asked me, I was clueless. Sometimes, I thought that we were fooled by showing the vast campus and canteen food (which was ok initially) and inspired by our X-director Dr. Nilesh.

Anyways, every story has its good and bad moments and so does mine.

To talk about my friends I think I should talk about every 1 except a few to whom I rarely met in the course of time.

The first two persons are my roomies, who were among the few people who started doing activities on behalf of our college. Manish is active and R. K. (aka Vkey) is a bit lazy. Both of them try to wake up as late as possible but occasionally they get up before me.

The next guy is Mr. Amandeep. I guess every batch must have a surd. Without them there isn’t any fun or liveliness. He is an exception to his other community members in a different way. I had only one experience of Daman but my other friends experienced it a couple of times. And Aman’s accent is a bit different. When he speaks in his US accent for a presentation, I doubt where he was born, India or Canada.

Amit, the second person I’m going to talk about, is a member of SPAN or NPAS, whichever way you like to call them. He and Aman were born on the same date but their nature is different in many ways. They both are genius but Amit was a bit shy initially, unlike Aman who was part of almost every extra-curricular activity. Today, Amit is a changed guy, not completely but changed. Another thing about him is the projects and assignments he used to do before the whole class can even start. Other members of SPAN are Sooraj, Pankaj and Nihar. All of them are studious but except studies they are specialised in something different. Sooraj will probably have most of the answers you want from him. He is a fun loving poet, who has written many poems about our batch, AICAR, recession and unemployment. Pankaj is a tech geek and most of the comp problems were solved by him, be it intel inside or mental inside. Nihar is well known for his massage and infamous for his wake-up calls, Naveen might be remembering(feeling) it very well. Another curiosity about Nihar was his Diwali vacations which he spent in college and never thought of meeting his parents in Orissa. This group is also well-known (infamously) about something else which can’t be put here.

There are two special kinds of persons in our batch and I would like to call them sleeping beauties. I don’t know why I counted only two because there are more than only two, but I felt they will take it as an insult and so only two would do. Suveera in spite of being a finance student rarely attended morning lectures where the reason is obviously sleeping till 12 or 1 in the afternoon. Sanchari is a master in day sleeping where she used to go to bed early morning and wake up at the time of evening snacks. I think she chatted with her friends living in western countries and to adjust according to the time zone she adjusted her sleep.

Our batch has an excellent story teller and an excellent story maker, both belonging to U. P. directly or indirectly, by destiny or fault. Don’t try to guess there names it’ll be injurious to your health. Whenever Himanshu starts telling a story, everybody prays that he should complete it as early as possible. But inclusion of every minute detail in the story, which is a part of his past life (god knows), makes the story more lengthy for us and interesting for him. Anuj, by his mere talent can make a story, untold and unwritten by anyone, for every another person around him. I can tell that because I’m the hero (?) in one of his imaginary stories (may be more).I bet he will create a story from my speech as well. He is master in convincing people of his rightness whenever and wherever he is wrong.

Our batch has the irritating Rahul (I don’t know why he acts like an idiot most of the time), wicked Dishang (wickedness can be seen in his eyes), silent Nishith and Kavita, the bad boy good boy group of Sachin, Deepak, Ganesh, Girish. It’s not because some of them are good and some of them are bad but it’s the thinking of my other mates, some of whom think that they are good and others think that they are bad. For me they all are good at heart and I’m sure about it. We also have the visiting students like Mohit, Ronak, Jeetu and the extreme cases of Rakesh Lalwani and Kumar Malani.

Some of the sincere students like Rohit (aka Bichu... sorry Bittu), Kumar Panjwani, Anuja, Neeta (she is also a nice dancer, artist and I call her miss Hitler), Jigna (I call her Jignes, the Hunterwali), Neha (poetess), Pooja (Poojipaji, the CR of our batch), Shilpi (a dog lover), Preeti (another dog lover), Soma, and Darshana (these three and Suveera becomes Gossip queens in night, thats what they are called by us), Parul and Priyanka are also credited for their contribution in my past two years.

I will also like to talk about the Ghatkopar Bombshells, who, if you say anything wrong about Ghatkopar, will look at you like they are going to kill you at instance, but not. These are Shubhangi and Manisha, don't cross them or they will make you cry by crying themselves. We also have some out of the world cases like Yash (Ghapochu, Bosssss) and Nitin. Some antiques like Sunil (his poses for photographs ... ummm makes me laugh), some of my mates in every sport I played like Darshit, Naveen (the CC from Chennai), Prakash, Hardik, (of course Manish, Aman, Sachin, Deepak and Anuj are also part of it).

We also have an encyclopaedia called Anupam aka Junior Guru who talks a lot and I sometime doubt his facts he puts during debates. We also have some day-scholars like Vishal(my movie watching partner), Sameer and Bhavin (the Gujju bros) and Vivek (sab ladkiyon ka bhai), who are seen more often than the visitors.

Here I learnt a new concept which I can tell no Business School will teach in their course. It is JAT, Just After Time. We rarely came to classes on time and that’s why the schedule of classes has been changed from 9.30 am to 10 am. We hardly submitted our assignments and projects on time and gave our presentations without preparing well. The profs also knew about it well and couldn’t do anything which will help us (or them). The other thing I’ll remember is our unity and dedication for the work we took as a responsibility, viz., the Culturals, Convocation 07, and of course the Farewell.

At the end I’ll just request you all to forgive me for all the mischief I did with you and also to forget all those miss-happening of the last two years and cherish and remember only the good ones.

I’m not a kind of person who likes to give reviews for
movies I see, I just watch because I love watching. And it becomes difficult
for me to give my opinions about the thing I love. So this is my pen writing for all my movie lover frienzz.

This review I start with the category
I love most i.e. Animation. Many of you have already watched this movie
(I guess) or if not you should see it if you love animated movies. Also
if you are a fan of Bruce, Jackie, Jet Lee or Tony then you have your
stuff in it. The movie is Kung-fu Panda. It's the top rated movie in both US and UK and has done a great collection of revenues.

It’s a story of a panda learning
Kung-fu and defeating a superior fighter. Sorry, I told you the crux
of the movie but this is not the only thing to see in the movie. It
can change your belief if you see it that way.

This panda is turned into a warrior
by his master who doesn’t believe in him initially but later when
he believes that the panda can be the warrior he teaches him Kung-fu
and Paul (the panda) learns it perfectly. So, the first thing to learn
is to believe and trust in what you do.

This movie is a combination of adventure
and comedy as I see and you will love both, that’s my guarantee. Paul
learns Kung-fu but there is a fear within him that he can’t defeat
the warrior on his own as the warrior is far better than him. To give
him the strength his master hands a Dragon scroll to him which is supposed
to be given to a dragon warrior. When Paul opens the scroll it’s blank.
He thinks that the creator of the scroll (who also selected him as Dragon
Warrior) was a fool to create a blank scroll. Everybody was confused
what to do as the devil was to come there any time. They started moving
the villagers to other safer place. By this time Paul’s father reveals
the secret of his secret recipe (as he is a cook and runs a hotel).
This is the most inspiring line in the whole movie which can change
your mind and behaviour if you believe in it.

“There is no secret ingredient
for the secret recipe. To make something special you just have to believe
it special.”

This brought a change in Paul’s mind
and he defeats the warrior.

And this can bring a change in you
too. If you believe that you can do it, you can. You are unique in yourself
and you don’t need anything else to become special. Just believe that
you are special. That’s all.

You can put your comments over here
only after watching the movie.

Friends

Today I thought of sitting alone on the dining table (I’m talking of our college canteen) and to tell you frankly I don’t want to do that again. I didn’t know how can one sit alone during meals and leave after doing so happily. I bet no one likes to sit alone anywhere (except some) but I don’t know why some people do so happily.

Seeing people around you talking to each other and not to you makes you more lonely than ever and this was the worst case with me because I’m a very talkative guy and sitting quite is not my cup of tea. Even when I was sitting alone nobody bothered to accompany me and that’s when I thought that you must have a special friend who accompanies you wherever you need. How can a simple guy or gal can change ones life can be seen in a college life and if not then it’s not life at all. I will always regret that I didn’t have a friend who voluntarily accompanied me for half of my life.

In want of having many I didn’t had any.

If you want to take a lesson from my life (I will be amazed if you do) then please take this one and have someone so near that he/she will never leave you alone and sit to share his/her thoughts with you on a dining table.

Do you have a friend who will not want you to sit alone, then you are one of the luckiest people on the earth. The recent dispute over Academic Award winning score of Jai Ho between BJP and NCP has created a havoc not only in the minds of Politicians but has given a new issue to talk on to the media irritators (the mediators between public and “public”).

The advertisers for NCP (JWT to be precise) has taken copyrights of AR Rehman composed Jai Ho from the movie Slumdog Millionaire for whopping Rs 1 Crore sum and has warned BJP not to use any lines from the song for her benefit. This is a different story altogether but my opinion says that using any song or term won’t give your party a boost (the BJP must have experienced this at the time of previous elections, Remember the Feel Good Factor) and the only thing which will matter is what have you done so far, the irony is people realise it too late (especially the political leaders). After enjoying five years of free income and seeing ups and downs of its fellow countrymen political parties seldom change their attitude towards benefitting the country.

Instead of fighting over an irrelevant point (slogan) if they had used the brains for removing the poverty or atleast upgrading the level of people (not of their party alone) in any manner, I’m sure they wouldn’t needed an election. But as the scenario is quite opposite it should be the time is not far when elections have to be conducted each year or for the worse case on monthly basis.

I don’t predict the results of the election and hope the deserved candidate wins but it’s upon us to elect her/him and we on our own can do it because someone has said, ”If you want things better, Do it yourself”. We as a country are admired in the world but as individuals we are treated as an idiot and that’s because of only us because we don’t care who our leader is, who are we following and whether he is leading us in a right direction.
Don’t become a fool and use your votes to elect the right candidate so you won’t have to complaint again.

Why is It This Way?

I was discussing with a friend about the rate cuts applied by various banks this year as a result of the downturn and as I am a student and taken a loan i.e. education loan of course I was bound to raise a point. The point is simple and whoever has taken an education loan will know it.

Why the banks have not reduced interest rates of any education loans? Despite of RBI cutting CRR, REPOs and SLRs other PSBs or co-operative banks, as the case may be, have not reduced a single basis point on education loan (except IDBI, who has cut it by 50 bps). Have you thought of my student friends that why the banks have reduced the home loan rates to 9.25% (SB group) from 12.25% last year and not the education loan rates?

I must confess that there are two important reasons behind it (according to my knowledge). The first one is the demand for education loan. The simple economic law says that whenever there is rise in demand the price tends to increase now or in near future. According to ET dated 3rd March 2009, the education loans disbursed in 2008 were whopping 600% more than the same in 2004. Then why the hell (sorry) should the bank cut rates on such a revenue generating item. Unless until the demand for education loans spurs the banks won’t learn a lesson and people like us will suffer continuously. But why the demand is increasing day-by-day with such a great intensity? The cost of education, that’s the reason. People like us who want to learn but cannot afford the cost of education (which is also increasing as the year passes) have to beg to the bank for a loan. India’s student population is going upward tremendously and this has resulted in the increasing demand for loans.

The second reason, which was suggested by my genius friend, is that the home loan category is the main category under loan segment and also the big chunk of income comes through it in credit section. Home loan is the most preferable item seen from both the parties i.e. the bank or lending institute and the borrower. As I said earlier India’s student population is rising tremendously and so are the number of parents and they need some place to stay near to (or away from) their parents. In this exercise they are either taking houses on rent or purchase them straight away. But to purchase the stylish houses they have to empty their (and their loved ones’) pockets and to pay the remaining (if any) they borrow from banks. Today (or I must say before recession) most of the buyers depend upon borrowed money rather than their own and hence, many people end up taking loan of different figures. But after recession, the demand for houses has declined such that no one is trying to take a look towards a new built house. The demand has spurred and builders have ended up giving discounts (like flat pe flat free, which happened in Thane) and to bail out these builders the banks have decided to cut interest rates on housing loans and give (or try to give) a boost to Indian Realty.

But my question is why only the rates on housing loan have been cut and not on the education loan? Please give me some reasons.

Waiting for your answers.

The terrorists Attack on Mumbai

I’m not used to it but I think all Mumbaikars are (?). Some of the hostages who were trapped in Taj, Oberoi and Nariman House were killed and some were released (thank to God, police, ATS and NSG). The terrorists raised an open fire in many public places which killed many innocent lives. Eleven policemen (including six of the major officials) and 160 civilians were killed in the encounter with terrorists and more than 300 are injured. Many terrorists are also shot down but god knows how many are still remaining.

It is a humiliating act by a human being to do, so we should say that the people who have committed this are not human but devil. The terrorist have done an irrecoverable loss to Mumbai and India as a whole but India will fight back and give a counter attack to those who tried to ruin the image and the lives of India. The courage demonstrated by civilians, ATS, police and NSG is worth saluting and I do it with a firm belief in them.

I live in a remote area and wasn’t aware of this incident until midnight when one of my friends was informed about it. I put my Radio on tried to listen to any news relating to the incident. I was relieved that Radio Mirchi was playing a role of mediator between general public and the people who witnessed the incidents. From that I got to know about the horrible act of terrorists. The next day every news-papers’ front page was showing images of terrorists and the blood bath at different places. I read the newspaper and found out the facts. As I am not having a television to show me news I took help of in.com which showed live news channels like IBN7 to give more details of the incident.

I was trying to write a blog over it but couldn’t as it is not a topic of writing but an issue to be thought over again and again. Everybody has a question in his/her mind that how the terrorist groups are funded so that they purchase AK-47s and AK-56s which Indian government also cannot because we have different guns in the police force and Army (I knew this because one of my friend informed me that AK-47 and 56 are made in US). The answer is simple: WE. Each and every time we buy a pirated product which is illegal or try to do an act of illegality we support people like Mujahideen and LeT. The expenditure incurred by us to do this acts is very less for us but Drops of Water forms an Ocean. All this black money is transferred to the terrorists and their companions and they use it against you only. So please don’t curse them for the loss of your relative but curse yourselves for motivating them to do it. I’ll request you not to cheat our people and benefit others in due course. Instead don’t buy any pirated book from Dadar or CST or duplicates of branded shoes in Kurla. Either buy original or buy some local brands which suites your pocket. Wearing those fake products will just give you a fake identity.

People are hurt and they want some consolation. This is an appraisal for a man who was and is as important for the television industry as Big B for the film industry. I'm writing this blog on the life of Shekhar Suman. Why he? Answer is simple. He worked in around 30 movies including Utsav with Rekha and 25 TV serials. The serials included one of the most comedy serials in Doordarshan's history-Dekh Bhai Dekh and One of the most watched talk shows- Movers and Shekhars. The cool thing with this talk show was that Shekhar in almost all the episodes made a critical mimickry of Lalu & Rabdi Yadav but then also the show was so popular that Lalu himself came to be a guest of one his episodes. He criticised almost every famous personality in his show but the criticism seemed to be logical and practical to me atleast. He does the same on Star News program Pol Khol. His other comedies included Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Wilaytee Babu, Hera Pheri and Kabhi Idhar Kabhi Udhar. He hosted Neelam Ghar Bid Bid Boom on Zee which also gained good viewership but for some reasons the Program didn't lasted long. Now something about his movies. He was born in Patna (don't ask where it is) and came to Mumbai looking for a career in Film Industry. He had a good face and therefore was selected for Utsav in which he was against Rekha (big star of that time). His role was praised but he movie was a commercial failure. As he was not from any filmy background and the 1st movie was flop he could not play main roles in his further movies. He struggled but stopped doing side roles and then he placed his concentration all on Television. In 2004, he hosted Great Indian Laughter Challenge with Navjot Singh Sidhu which was also seen by many people.Today His son is making his debut in Film Ind. and he is making debut in singing. He has launched his 1st Video Album -Kuch Khwab Aise and shown his multi talent to the world. He has seen his (elder) son's death and struggled to survive. But today he is satisfied with his achievement and making ways easier for his son Adhyayan. As this is not a biography I should not write much but many people has written on SRK, Big B, Aamir, etc and so I thought I should pay my duties to one of my Idols.
